My Beauty Journey

Beauty and creativity have always been my passions. Over the years, I’ve taught myself makeup artistry, nail design, hairstyling, and wig-making—honing my skills through dedication, curiosity, and an undeniable love for the beauty world. From a young age, I was mesmerized by the industry, driven by imagination, and inspired by the idea of making the world a more beautiful, joyful place.

Yet, as much as I loved beauty, I often felt like an outsider. The glamorous faces in magazines and on TV didn’t look like me, and the industry seemed to cater to a narrow definition of beauty—one that excluded people like me. I longed to be part of that world but felt there was no place for me. Many of the products I admired weren’t designed with my skin tone, hair texture, or features in mind. This lack of inclusivity was disheartening, but instead of letting it diminish my love for beauty, it fuelled my determination to push for more diversity in the industry.

For years, I distanced myself from the beauty world, convinced that I didn’t belong. While others experimented with makeup in high school, I stuck to skincare and a simple lip gloss. But beauty had a way of finding me again, and as I got older, I realized something powerful—I had always belonged. I had always been beautiful, inside and out. I no longer needed permission to take up space in an industry that didn’t initially embrace me, so I made room for myself. Embracing this realization, I immersed myself in learning everything I could about beauty—constantly taking courses, sharpening my skills, and expanding my knowledge. 

My passion eventually led me to work at the world’s top beauty retailer, a career I never imagined for someone like me. I thrived in helping people discover products, sharing tips and tricks, and making others feel confident. But even in the industry’s most prestigious spaces, I saw firsthand how many people were still being left out. Too often, I had to turn customers away simply because the products available didn’t cater to their needs. It was heartbreaking to witness people feel unseen in a world that should celebrate all forms of beauty.

Now, I’m more determined than ever to be the change I once wished for. With my beauty brand, I am committed to advocating for true inclusivity and representation. Every product I create is designed with all people in mind—every skin tone, hair type, and unique beauty need. Because I believe that everyone deserves to feel seen, confident, and beautiful. This is more than a business—it’s my purpose. And I’m just getting started.
